Position Title: Solar Installer

Job Types: Internship, Contract

Salary: $18.00 to $24.00 /hour

About The Company:

​

Solar Opportunities, LLC, the new, excited, and privately-owned solar company, is seeking a Solar Installer to assist with all solar installation projects for our PA office located in Towanda, PA. The Solar Installer is responsible for assembling and solar photo-voltaic (PV) modules to roofs or other structures in compliance with site assessment and schematics. May include measuring, cutting, assembling, hoisting, anchoring and placing solar modules.

 

Responsibilities:

​

  • Install photo-voltaic solar modules in accordance with codes and standards, using drawings, schematics, and instructions.

  • Assemble solar modules, panels, or support structures, as specified.

  • Apply weather sealing to an array, building, or support mechanisms.

  • Identify methods for laying out, orienting, and mounting modules or arrays to ensure efficient installation.

  • Identify environmental, and safety hazards associated with photo-voltaic (PV) installations.

  • Examine designs to determine the current requirements for all parts of the photo-voltaic (PV) array.

  • Identify and resolve any deficiencies in photo-voltaic (PV) system installation or materials.

  • Identify installation locations with proper orientation, area, solar access, or structural integrity for photo-voltaic (PV) arrays.

  • Compile or maintain records of system installation.

  • Diagram layouts and locations for photo-voltaic (PV) arrays and equipment, including existing building or site features.

  • Complete job-related paperwork and submit in an orderly timely manner to appropriate individuals.

  • Arrange your own transportation to a work location (Office or Job site).

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

​

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1 - 2 years of education and experience a plus.

​

Other Abilities:

​

  • Work safely on roofs for an extended period of time.

  • Safely ascend and descend ladders.

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 to 50 lbs.

  • Good mechanical skills set, such as: working with hands, tools, climbing, good sense of balance, bending, kneeling, crouching, etc.
